These resources have been developed through extensive consultations with community and frontline workers, people with lived experience and subject matter experts across Australia.
Online course – ‘Modern Slavery in the Home’
Learn how modern slavery can take place in a home and between family members, including forced marriage, domestic servitude and human trafficking.
With interactive activities, expert interviews and case studies, this course covers:
- What modern slavery in the home looks like
- Who is at risk of modern slavery in the home
- The different types of modern slavery in the home, including forced marriage, domestic servitude and human trafficking
- Common signs and indicators
- What to do if you come across a person affected by modern slavery
- Referral options for people affected by modern slavery.
This is a free, online, self-paced course and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.
Frontline Worker Guide: Identifying and Responding to Forced Marriage in Australia
This comprehensive digital guide provides practical guidance for community and frontline workers on:
- What forced marriage is
- Good practice principles
- How to identify forced marriage
- How to respond to forced marriage and support those at-risk
